Saturday 15th September, 9.30am to mid afternoon.
Meet at the Karangahake carpark, by the swing bridge.
It’s the start of conservation week and we want to take part, championing the amazing landscapes in our back yard that help define us as a nation. We also want to highlight the huge contradiction that allows destructive gold mining in the heart of the conservation estate.
Come along and help hold a banner, tell our stories to visitors to the Karangahake gorge or collect signatures for our letter to the Minister’s of Conservation and the Environment. We’re holding this event to show our love for the Mountain and to highlight our position that mining on conservation land is not acceptable.
